How much does Charity Record cost?
Free tier: Track up to $500 in manually-added donations (imports don't count toward the $500 limit). Export to CSV anytime.
Paid tier: $29.99/year for unlimited donations plus PDF, HTML, and TXF exports. TXF files import directly into tax software like TurboTax.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards and debit cards. Payments are processed securely through Polar.sh, our merchant of record.
How do I upgrade to paid?
- Go to Upgrade in the sidebar (or visit charityrecord.com/app/upgrade/)
- Click Upgrade Now
- Complete checkout through Polar.sh
- Your account upgrades instantly
How do I cancel my subscription?
- Go to Subscription in the sidebar
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Confirm cancellation
Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to free tier limits ($500 limit, CSV-only exports).
Can I reactivate after canceling?
Yes! If you cancel but haven't reached the end of your billing period yet, you can reactivate anytime from the Subscription page. Your original renewal date stays the same.
What's your refund policy?
30-day money-back guarantee on any payment. If you're not satisfied, request a refund within 30 days of your payment.
When you request a refund: - Your subscription ends immediately - Your account reverts to free tier limits - Any beta discount you had is forfeited—if you resubscribe later, you'll pay the standard price
What if I request a second refund?
To prevent abuse, we can't offer unlimited refunds. If you request a second refund, your account will be scheduled for deletion after a 30-day grace period. You'll be able to log in during that time to export your data (export formats depend on your subscription/payment status; CSV is always available).
How do I update my payment method?
- Go to Subscription in the sidebar
- Click Manage Billing
- Update your card through Polar's customer portal
I'm a beta tester. What's my discount?
Beta testers (accounts marked as beta at GA) get 30% off for life: $20.99/year instead of $29.99.
Your discount is automatically applied at checkout. It is forfeited only if you receive a refund—if you resubscribe after a refunded payment, you'll pay the standard $29.99/year rate.
What happens to my data if I don't upgrade?
Your donation records stay safe. Free accounts can still: - View all donations - Add up to $500 in new manually-added donations - Export to CSV
You just won't have access to PDF/HTML/TXF exports or donations beyond $500 until you upgrade.
