How much does Charity Record cost?

Free tier: Track up to $500 in manually-added donations (imports don't count toward the $500 limit). Export to CSV anytime.

Paid tier: Charity Record Plus is $29.99/year for unlimited donations plus PDF, HTML, and TXF exports. Other fees, such as state or local taxes, will be applied at checkout if applicable.


What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards and debit cards. Payments are processed securely through Polar.sh, our merchant of record.

Your credit or debit card statement will show 'POLAR' as well as 'INFOPORTFOLIO-LLC' (or a shorter combination).


What does my subscription include?

Your subscription runs for one year from the date you subscribe. During that time, you can enter and manage donations from any tax year.

Charity Record is a donation tracking tool, not tax software. We help you organize your charitable giving history, see trends across years, and export your records when it is time to file. Because of that, our plans cover one subscription, any tax year's donation data.

For example, if you subscribe in 2026, you can enter your 2025 donations for 2025's filing, track 2026 donations as the year goes on, and backfill 2024 donations.

When your subscription renews, you keep uninterrupted access. If you choose to cancel or not to renew, your data stays safe with read-only access, and you can export to CSV anytime.


How do I upgrade to paid?

  1. Go to Upgrade in the sidebar (or visit charityrecord.com/app/upgrade/)
  2. Click Upgrade Now
  3. Complete checkout through Polar.sh
  4. Your account upgrades instantly

How do I cancel my subscription?

  1. Go to Subscription in the sidebar
  2. Click Cancel Subscription
  3. Confirm cancellation

Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to free tier limits (read-only beyond the $500 limit, CSV-only exports).


Can I reactivate after canceling?

Yes! If you cancel but haven't reached the end of your billing period yet, you can reactivate anytime from the Subscription page. Your original renewal date stays the same.


What's your refund policy?

30-day refund policy. Refunds are available within 30 days of payment unless you generate a premium export (TXF, PDF, HTML, or form helpers). See our Terms of Service for full details.

When you request a refund:

  • Your subscription ends immediately
  • Your account reverts to free tier limits
  • Any discount you have is forfeited — if you resubscribe later, you'll pay the standard price

What if I request a second refund?

To prevent abuse of our product, we can't offer unlimited refunds. If you request a second refund, your account will be scheduled for deletion after a 30-day grace period, and you will not be able to cancel the process or sign up again. You'll be able to log in during that time to export your data (export formats depend on your subscription/payment status; CSV is always available).


How do I update my payment method?

  1. Go to Subscription in the sidebar
  2. Click Manage Billing
  3. Update your card through Polar's customer portal

What happens to my data if I don't upgrade?

Your donation records stay safe. Free accounts can:

  • View all donations
  • Add up to $500 total in manually-added donations (imported donations do not count towards this limit)
  • Export to CSV

You just won't have access to form helpers, PDF/HTML/TXF exports, or new donations beyond $500 until you upgrade.
